Coming Soon – the first of its kind – an Online Home Buyer Seminar!! I thought this could be kind of fun -- to take the topics that we would present in a traditional Home Buyer Seminar and do it online! It’s hard to cover all of these things in one evening, and even harder getting lots of people to attend a particular seminar on a particular day. So beginning next Monday, March 2, and every Monday after that (until we run out of things to talk about) I’ll cover a different topic. Posts will be archived so just scroll down on the right sidebar to find them all. If you miss a week, or if you want to tell your friends to join in, they can log on at any time and check out the entire Series.
I plan to cover topics such as:
Reasons to Buy this Year
Steps to Buying a Home
Getting Prequalified
Finding the Right Realtor – Understanding Representation
What to Look for in Choosing Your New Home
Inspections, Appraisals, Titlework – what are these, and who pays for what?
The Purchase Agreement
Negotiating Your Best Deal
Foreclosures and Short Sales
Our Local Market
I’ll also look forward to your questions along the way! I promise this will be an informative and fun way to begin your Home Search.
I’m happy to have you visit my website also at http://www.buymarquette.com/ (See Helpful Links). By the way, I am revamping my website DURING this process too – so I hope we won’t be interrupted. If so, just check back in and it will be back up.
Thanks – see you soon! ~ Liz

Lower Your Heating Bills

Here are some basic steps to take to Lower Your Heating Bills:
1) Close your drapes at nite and open them during the day to let the sun shine in.
2) Keep interior doors open to allow heat to circulate. Heating systems don’t have to work as hard.
3) Lower the thermostat when you leave the house, and when you go to bed. Or get a programmable thermostat.
4) Seal your windows and/or install storm windows.
5) Change furnace filters for optimum furnace performance.
6) Have furnaces regularly serviced and/or upgrade to a new energy efficient one.
7) Have an energy audit conducted to find those areas to improve around the house. (There are several companies around town that will do this.)
8) Add insulation.
Some of these fixes are VERY inexpensive. Why not keep your cash for yourself, rather than paying it out month after month on heating costs?
