Here are some basic steps to take to Lower Your Heating Bills:
1) Close your drapes at nite and open them during the day to let the sun shine in.
2) Keep interior doors open to allow heat to circulate. Heating systems don’t have to work as hard.
3) Lower the thermostat when you leave the house, and when you go to bed. Or get a programmable thermostat.
4) Seal your windows and/or install storm windows.
5) Change furnace filters for optimum furnace performance.
6) Have furnaces regularly serviced and/or upgrade to a new energy efficient one.
7) Have an energy audit conducted to find those areas to improve around the house. (There are several companies around town that will do this.)
8) Add insulation.
Some of these fixes are VERY inexpensive. Why not keep your cash for yourself, rather than paying it out month after month on heating costs?
